Job Summary: We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dishwasher/Cleaner to join our team at a bustling bagel shop. As a Dishwasher/Cleaner, you will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards within the kitchen and dining areas. Your diligent work ethic and commitment to cleanliness will contribute to a positive dining experience for our customers. Responsibilities: - Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment. - Ensure all dishes and utensils are thoroughly cleaned, dried, and properly stored. - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, including removing trash and emptying garbage bins as needed. - Assist with basic food prep tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients, as directed by the kitchen staff. - Clean and sanitize food preparation surfaces, floors, walls, and other kitchen areas to maintain a hygienic environment. - Adhere to proper food handling and safety procedures, including temperature monitoring and labeling of food items. - Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and storage of supplies. - Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure that all equipment, utensils, and workstations are properly cleaned and maintained. - Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the management. - Follow all health and safety regulations and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Qualifications: - Previous experience as a dishwasher or cleaner in a restaurant or food service establishment is preferred but not required. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. - Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness standards consistently. - Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. - Ability to work well within a team and follow instructions effectively. - Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds), and perform repetitive tasks. - Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. - Excellent time management and organizational skills. - Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a positive team environment.
